Secure Video Streaming for Major Awards & Film Festivals
Private screening platform for high-profile entertainment industry clients
Overview
Built and operated a secure video streaming platform used by major awards ceremonies and film festivals. The platform handled high-stakes content distribution with custom authentication integrations for organizations with strict security requirements, including the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) and the Screen Actors Guild.
Responsibilities
- Designed and developed a scalable, secure streaming platform handling high-volume traffic during peak voting periods
- Implemented custom multi-factor authentication integrated with Academy member IDs (6,000+ members) and SAG Awards voting-member IDs (100,000+ members)
- Built adaptive bitrate streaming optimized for HD quality across devices and varying bandwidths
- Created white-labeled screening portals for studios and production companies during Sundance and Cannes film festivals
- Managed all client relationships, from initial sales through ongoing support
- Handled complete product lifecycle as sole developer: architecture, development, deployment, and operations

Outcome
The platform supported multiple awards seasons, streaming thousands of pre-release films to voting members — high-profile clients with strict security requirements and unforgiving audiences. After the AMPAS and SAG engagements, it ran seasonally as a white-labeled screening portal for studios, mostly with existing clients. With Docurated under way, I chose not to pursue it as a growing business.
