As the founder and solopreneur of Paircast, a private screening app for film festivals and award ceremonies, I managed the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to development and deployment. The app was used to stream secure screenings during film festivals and award ceremonies, including the Academy Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Responsbilities
- Conducted initial user and market research to identify the needs and competitive landscape for 'screeners'.
- Designed and developed a scalable, secure, and user-friendly platform that handled high-volume streaming for festivals and awards.
- Built the platform using Ruby on Rails, hosted on Heroku, and leveraged various front-end technologies and frameworks to create a seamless experience across all popular devices.
- Optimized video streaming for HD quality across devices and bandwidths, using adaptive bitrate streaming.
- Implemented multi-factor authentication, customized for high-profile clients, such as the Academy Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
- Managed all aspects of the project as a solopreneur, and dealt directly with clients, prospects and users.
